Owner of Comstock Art Advisory

Robert Lombard has been working with artists and collectors for over 40 years. He has used his skills as an art curator to assist individuals, as well as private, public and corporate collections to acquire art. His in-depth knowledge of the process of creating art, the history of art and the proper care of art has helped his clients make careful and informed decisions when acquiring a work of art. Robert also enjoys curating art collections, restoring damaged art, building custom frames, appraisals and exhibiting shows by selected artists.

Robert understands that art is personal and supports people in discovering what it is about a work of art that attracts them. His art warehouse is a private, unharried setting where guests are able to visit with Robert and explore what resonates with them. He encourages, “Find art that speaks to you”.

Robert’s extensive personal library is made available his clients along with his current knowledge of art auction results.

Choosing a frame that showcases a work of art and care in framing is important. Robbie supports people in that process and provides skilled, careful framing and restoration.

Robert has also enjoyed rescuing old growth fallen trees from the common destination of becoming saw dust. The trees are cut into live edge slabs and brought to his warehouse to be kiln dried. Once the wood is fully cured, Robert makes hand sawn live edge dovetail benches and tables plus some of the wood is selected for custom picture frames. Robert also makes the wood available to other artisans to create their own visions.

His interest in raw and honest works of art inspired Robert to collect and make available an extraordinary collection of Aboriginal paintings done by women in the Australian Outback. These paintings are derived from their ancestral dreams.
